Tesla Model 3 Receiving 2021.4.16 OTA Software Update

Last Updated on April 20, 2021

  • Tesla is sending a software update with version number 2021.4.16, though no new features have been reported.
  • This comes as customers have long waited for Tesla to roll out the V11 update, which is expected to bring a handful of new features to Tesla EVs.
  • This minor OTA update was first spotted in Sichuan, China, and is soon expected to reach other markets worldwide, including North America.

Tesla has started rolling out an OTA (over-the-air) software update to owners of the Model 3 in China. The software update comes with version number 2021.4.16, while the previous update introduced version 2021.4.15.

The update has been spotted in Sichuan, China, on a Model 3 Long Range, while no other regions have reported it as of yet. However, that could easily change over the coming days.

What’s new?

Much like the previous minor update, 2021.4.16 doesn’t bring a whole lot to the table apart from a handful of minor fixes.

Customers have long awaited the Tesla V11 update, which is expected to bring a ton of new features to the table. However, it seems like owners will have to wait some more to see this update.
