ETH Staking

Reliable security, increased transaction speed, and a new consensus algorithm: all of this is summed up in the Ethereum 2.0 update Serenity, which actively represents the fourth stage of this global platform.

What is staking?

Staking refers to the process of transferring crypto funds to a blockchain and receiving a reward in return, in the form of new coins. Staking services are offered by block-keeper networks that run on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) algorithm. Staking can be considered as an alternative to mining as crypto coins are stored using a web-connected wallet. The principle of receiving profit is similar to receiving dividends when buying shares or making a deposit. However, it is much easier to make a profit through staking because there is no need to buy unique, expensive equipment, as in the case of traditional mining.

How does it work?

Proof of Stake mining, staking, is the process of keeping coins in your wallet unlocked, with the wallet connected to the network 24/7. The creator of the next block receives a reward and is selected based on the share of his coins in the total system. The miner makes a "bet" with his coins, putting them into the public network and leaving them there without touching them. His coins are a pledge; they form a "share" of the miner coins in the system. The one who signs the next block is determined based on this “share”. To participate in the minimum bid amount is not required. However, the more coins you bet, and the longer you leave them in the system, the higher chance you have to win the reward rate.

Guarda ETH 2.0 staking pool

Guarda Wallet has launched its own ETH staking pool. Now, to receive rewards for ETH staking, you no longer need to stake 32 ETH. With the Guarda ETH staking pool, you can start earning rewards by staking just 0.1 ETH. Currently, you can earn up to 16% APY. You don't have to worry about the safety of your funds, as, for each ETH users stake, Guarda generates GETH tokens to send to users. These tokens are minted for you at a 1:1 ratio to SETH and will soon become tradable. It is also worth mentioning that Guarda Wallet rewards users with GETH tokens when they stake ETH, sending them as a reward every month.

What's the interest rate?

The annual interest rate is currently around 16%, including the service fee, and depends on the total staked amount in the network.

How is the reward calculated?

The service fee is 10% of the rewards. We take the whole staking reward, deduct the 10% fee from it, and then distribute the remaining 90% to all GETH token holders in proportion to their balance.

For example, if you deposit 1 ETH, in one month you will receive:

  • 1 ETH x 18% (current annual yield) /12 = 0.015 ETH
  • 0.015 ETH - 10% (Service fee) = 0.0135 ETH

Every month after depositing 1 ETH you will get 0.0135 ETH in GETH tokens, a roughly 16% c) annual yield.

How is the reward distributed?

The reward is automatically distributed once a month. Since the network locks deposited ETH and tips, we distribute GETH, which is in 1:1 token ratio to ETH.

How to check our authenticity

For each ETH sent to Guarda, we generate one GETH token, equivalent to 1 to 1, and send it to the user. This token is proof that the user has sent us a deposit. Once the tokens in the ETH 2.0 network are unlocked, GETH tokens can be changed to ETH.

Can I withdraw staked ETH?

According to the Ethereum staking rules, both staked Ether and rewards are frozen in the network until the launch of phase 2 of Ethereum 2.0 (in approx. 2 years). Thus it is currently impossible to withdraw ETH.

However, to provide our users with a more flexible option we will be issuing ERC-20 GETH tokens, Guarded Ether, which you will receive at a 1:1 ratio to ETH. You will be able to sell this token using Defi exchanges like Uniswap while your Ether is locked.

How can I start staking with Guarda?

Guarda presents an exceptional opportunity for its users by launching its own Staking Pool so that they can join such great events as ETH 2.0 and participate in the staking process.

In order to start staking with Guarda, follow these simple steps:

  1. Create a Guarda wallet.
  2. Go to the Guarda Ethereum Staking page.
  3. Press the Stake ETH button.
  4. You will be redirected to your wallet, where you can find Ethereum.
  5. Press the Stake button in the ETH Staking section.
  6. Fill in the amount you need and wait for your rewards.
